August Quilt

A golden sun rises over eastern waters; small skeins of geese begin appearing overhead. The days are hot but fleeting. August has come to Maine.
 
The August Quilt is an heirloom quality quilt celebrating summer's last hurrah in Maine. Flying geese circle a rising sun in vibrant pinks, purples, yellows, blues, and greens, all brought to life thanks to our plant friends indigo, avocado, weld, and madder.
 
The quilt top is lovingly constructed using naturally dyed cottons and linens. It's backed in a warm rust colored cotton and bound in a delicate yellow floral cotton. The rising sun is revealed on the quilt backing through thoughtful hand quilting. The use of a cotton batting makes this quilt cozy and lightweight. 
 
The August Quilt measures 43" x 49", making it well suited for a crib quilt, lap quilt, or wall hanging.
